I’ve gotten comments recently from people telling me how difficult it is to find vintage naturist media in its full complete form on the internet. Not chopped up and removed from its context to be viewed on some porn site.
That sparked an idea in my head of having a sort of library on my Substack. I could post some of the public-domain nudist content I have. It would be a great way to add some extra value to Nudistory.
To test out the concept, I wanted to share the first issue of the British magazine simply titled The Naturist from December 1937 with you.
I purchased a hardback bounded collection of the magazine from an antique store some time ago. It contains a range of issues from 1937 to 1939 after the start of World War 2. It’s very interesting to read about the thoughts of these British nudists as a global war is brewing in the background. Modern western nudism, after all, has its origin in Germany, and as the inevitable conflict comes closer you see these Brits address this contradiction in later issues.
I can’t put the whole issue in an email due to space constriction, so it will be in a separate post. The link to it is below.
Let me know what you think of the library idea. Do you want to see more?
Thank you for reading Nudistory.
Fascinating! I enjoy reading things like this. It gives one a great appreciation for those that came before us.
Oooh! I see a tiny bit of eugenics in there.
